Celebrating over 60 years in the entertainment industry in my 85th year

I admit to having been addicted to ‘Catch Phrase’ with Roy Walker and Mr Chips, further to that I remember having to watch the ‘Comedians’ with my mum and dad.

It was really nice to find out more about Roy Walker the man and also little titbits of tittle tattle about the comedians he has worked with.

I actually auditioned for ‘Catch Phrase’ many moons ago but did not get through to the TV stages.

Imagine my delight in getting to play as part of the finale to his Fringe show and being able to say I got the first phrase of the night and a T-shirt to prove it.

The hour was just a sit back and enjoy show along with a free for all when it came to playing the game at the end.

All I have to do now is stalk him T-shirt in hand to get his autograph and hopefully a photo.

What a night at The Empress Ballroom, Mexborough!🎤✨

On Saturday, we had the absolute pleasure of hosting the legendary Roy Walker for the very first time — and what a night it was!

Roy was an absolute gentleman, spending time with all our Gold VIP guests and making everyone feel truly special. His comedy act had the whole place in stitches, and the laughter could be heard all around the ballroom! 😂👏

An incredible performer and a true professional — we can’t wait to have him back for another unforgettable show! 🙌🎭

Liam Rudden - Edinburgh Evening News Friday August 15 - SAY WHAT YOU SEE

"Just watched Roy Walker deliver a master-class in comedy.

Slow, deliberating and with killer sucker-punches liberally scattered throughout his set, not to mention a game of Catchphrase and Car Park Catchphrase ala the Chris Moyles radio show".

"This is a show not to miss if you have fond memories of Saturday evenings spent watching Mr Chips... or have just received a one-star review for your own stand-up act".

Dinner I did for 100 captains of golf clubs in the London area.

Everyone last night said you were incredible plus I’ve been inundated with messages this morning saying Roy was the best guest speaker we’ve had in many years.

Thank you for making me laugh so hard and all doing the gig. You were awesome! 🤩 cheers Russell

Lytham Hall

Yesterday afternoon saw legendary comedian and TV presenter Roy Walker entertain and delight a sold-out crowd in an interview with our own Paul Lomax.

This was the final interview in our ‘in the Lounge with…’ series of performances, the previous two starring Johnnie Casson and Stu Francis respectively.

Thanks to all who supported us across these three fantastic afternoons.
